Meet the people behind King's Men Quilting Supply
Hi there! We're David and Debbie Taft, the owners and operators of King's Men Quilting Supply, Inc. We're glad you've come to visit our little corner of cyberspace -- if you have a few spare minutes, we'd like to tell you a little bit about ourselves and our business!
We are the parents of two. Our oldest is Andrea, who has been working for us since graduating high school in 2001. She is now married to Kent and they have a one year old son, Alex. Andrea is finishing a Masters degree in Political Science and brings Alex to work with her every day as our shop manager. David, our youngest is 18 and a senior in high school.
We have both been actively involved in machine quilting since 1994, from the humble beginning with a machine in our den to our full service quilt shop with two machines and a line of fabric. We offer hundreds of products for your quilting needs -- thread, batting, needles, instructional books, patterns, parts, and accessories.
David is a Vietnam Veteran with the US Navy, also runs a grain farm and Debbie is a mail carrier. Linda, has worked for us since 2001 and raises llamas. Sheila works mornings, retired from a bank and now drives a school bus. Janis, our former office manager, still pops in from time to time and attends quilt shows with us. We have 1 high school girl and 3 college girls that work after school and thru the summer. Melissa is the newest addition to our staff. She is a Junior at Rochester High School and enjoys singing as a Madrigal, acting in the school plays and swimming. Stacie went to MQX 2008 and will be attending Lincoln Land Community College majoring in Psychology. Amanda will also be attending Lincoln Land Community College majoring in Accounting. She plans to transfer to Illinois State University her junior year. Sarah began working her as a High School student in 2003. She has been with us after school and summers since she was 16. She is attending Illinois State University majoring in elementary education and will begin her student teaching Fall 2008.
Thanks for stopping by. We hope to hear from you soon!
